Tomorrow marks the future. October 21, 2015, Marty McFly’s glimpse of the future of the 80s.
About a year ago, I saw this day coming, and started to put in motion the ultimate event… A Back To The Future Trilogy Exclusive Drive-In Movie… wait for it… in the parking lot of the original DeLorean factory. I KNOW RIGHT?! It’s located just outside of Belfast in Dunmurry. How awesome would that have been?
Anyway, the motion quickly ground to a halt as I got too caught up in Schrödinger’s Cat and the dozen other things I was working on, and the Drive-In got dumped into the back seat next to the Sony Walkman, radiation helmet, and the flux capacitor. Shame. It would have been… heavy.
So now the big day approaches, and I ask myself, what will I be doing to commemorate the occasion?
Answer: I’ll be spending the day in a nuclear bunker.
No, really. An honest to goodness nuclear freaking bunker. In the middle of England. And I owe this experience to my good friends at Splendy, who have hired Italic Pig to work on this amazing new project…
You are the last remaining survivor of a nuclear bunker, 36 years after the blast obliterated everything above ground. Over the years everyone else has died, their corpses locked away in cold storage. All you’ve ever known is the Bunker, and your daily routine is the only thing keeping you sane… just. But when you find the air filtration system sabotaged, with only 30 minutes of air remaining, you’ve got to find answers fast, the most important being: Who’s in the bunker with you?
It’s an interactive movie starring Adam Brown from the Hobbit Trilogy. The trailer (unreleased) is amazing, as is the Splendy team who cooked up the idea. We’re thrilled to be a part of such an incredible project.
I’ll do my best to tell you more about it in the next day or two. In the meantime, in the October spirit, please enjoy this informative documentary about the Kelvedon Nuclear Bunker… Most Haunted.
